Why Fashion?
In order to understand the behaviours and mindset of the Chinese, it requires an understanding of the cultural and historical context.
However, the fact that behaviours and mindset cannot be accurately documented due to its variety and complexity of different individuals that often rely on explicit exchanges, it requires other forms of documentation such as fashion.

Why Fashion?: About
Fashion is an instantaneous mode of direct and visual communication of ideas and values that determines one’s membership in a society. There are different dress codes that are created out of social perceptions and norms and vary based on purpose, circumstances and occasions.

Why Fashion?: About

Fashion comes into play as a means to explicitly showcase the internalised cultural values of a society without having to exchange any explicit social interactions. It acts as a manifestation of values and beliefs people believe in, instilling or simply drawing attention to the ideas in a subtle yet assertive manner in a community.
Why Fashion?: About
Fashion is a visual signifier that can be interpreted differently based on different contexts and cultures. Such difficulty is enhanced through the fact that similar expressive elements have differences in symbolic meanings in different cultural and geographical contexts.
